【活動について】
日本人学生と留学生合わせて総勢２９人で太平山の前岳に登りました。太平山には前岳（７７４ｍ）、中岳（９５２ｍ）、奥岳（１１７１ｍ）の三つの山頂があります。ご覧の通り太平山は標高１０００ｍ級の山で、さほど高くはありません。しかし、その昔周囲の平坦な秋田平野から見上げると一際美しかったために、古くから霊山として信仰を集めました。そのような背景もあり、現在でも登山道には多くの石碑が残されています。面白いことに、太平山は１８４０年代当時女人禁制で、女性の登山は前岳までのみ許されていたそうです。その名残なのでしょうか、登山道にはこじんまりとした女人堂も見かけられました。太平山の登山は、以上のように目に入るものから歴史を感じることができ、背景知識があれば人一倍楽しむことができます。

”爬到山頂的時候，因為有一些積雪，所以路變得很滑很冷而且非常難爬，但是當最後踩著雪，登上山頂的時候真的很感動。天氣很好，山頂的視野很棒，眼前的景色很美，遠處的房屋閃著光芒，更遠一些甚至可以看見日本海。第一次爬這麼陡峭的山，一路上一邊拉著各種植物的莖，扶著各種不知道名字的樹幹，然後聽著大家嬉鬧崩潰滑倒的聲音，然後最重要的還有和各個國家各種不同背景的人一起聊天，真的是很棒的活動。”

”I thought there were many memorable moments, but one that stands out for me was reaching the top (or at least the highest point we managed to reach). As I had never experienced walking through snow, it was very new to me and so the last few steps to reach the top after that long climb were precious. Then of course was the view from the top - I don't think I've seen such a spectacular view before, except maybe seeing the peak of Mt Fuji through the clouds on the plane. I can only imagine what it would be like at the very top of the mountain. I'd definitely like to try climbing Mt Taihei again!”
